Making A Commitment To My Boobies . . .Anyone Want To Join Me? Seriously!
It doesn't matter where you live or what shape you are in - I am sending an invitation out to all of you. Please join me for The Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk! I have been thinking about doing this for over a year, have made my intentions clear with DH, and will be finalizing my decision (when and where I will do it - right now I am leaning towards DFW on Oct. 27-29) by the of this month. I would be more than happy to be a "team captain" and help motivate anyone that joins me.
There are many reasons why I am venturing on this 60-mile journey:
1) My Grammy Macy passes away two years ago (11/04) from breast cancer complications. She was a strong, loving woman that saw "the glass half-full" and never felt the need to complain, even at the end! Right now, I plan on walking this every even year ('06,'08,'10,...) to honor her.
2) My Mom participated in the walk last year and was unable to finish her walk b/c of a stress fracture she got at mile seven. She fought through the pain and finally stopped walking at mile eleven! What a trooper :) She was so excited and raised almost $4,000 for the cause and it crushed her to not walk the full three days.
3) For my future, my daughter's future, and all the other women (and men) that suffer from this deadly beast. We can and will find a cure someday!
