What Brings You Joy?
With the week I have endured, this is an excellent question. I have found it difficult to look at the positive side of things and seem to be pretty down-right bitchy lately! Though I am happy to be back at work, it has been hell. The long-term substitute, though she is a nice woman, let my kiddos run the show. Now that I am back, they would like for that trend to continue . . . Hello! Reality check - NO! Other stressors from work include budget issues and naggy art teachers needing to vent on me now that I have returned (they really need to blog)!
Tonight, I was feeling brave and decided to enlighten my husband about some of the things he has done to add to my bad attitude, too! I always try to use humor with him b/c he is a very funny, sarcastic person - - - but, it never sounds as funny out loud as it does in my head! LOL! So, I told him: 1) Watch his language with Loo, even if it is 3 or 6 a.m. and he doesn't want to deal with her whinny butt!!! 2) Pick-up after himself - yeah, right! 3) Try to act like he enjoys being a parent more . . . this was an interesting conversation . . .
AL: (After points 1 & 2 above were rolled out and he was "warmed up")
So, I was thinking that you have acting like you don't like being a parent lately. More like hate it!
DH: Well, I love being a parent - it's just this whole kid thing that has got me down!
Great!!!! See what I have to deal with?!!? LOL!
The joys in my life include:
- Time alone to relax
- Cuddling my hubby
- Hearing my children laugh
- Seeing my children smile
- Cruising in my new minivan
- Photography & scrapbooking
- Chocolate & Starbucks
