Timing . . .

Why is it that things always go wrong at a bad time? Your in a rush and get stopped by a cop or blow your tire (just an example, this did not happen to me - thankfully), the phone rings with an important call right when you're running out the door, etc.

This morning DH left for work and will be gone for a while [NOTE TO STALKERS - I have a big, bad-ass dog!]. Of course, after I drop the kids off with Miss Dot, Loo gets sick and throws up three times before 9 a.m. So, I have to leave work the day before final exams to be with her. Plus, I have to pray that she is better tomorrow, so I can go to work to give my exams. Schools are really strick about teacher absences, especially during final exams. If she is not, I will have to call in for a substitute and hope that my students do well without me.

She seems to be doing better and ate a small dinner without giving it back . . .

If only this would have happened a couple of days ago, then Daddy would be here for her. It's just bad timing!

Childhood Memories . . .

The above post reminded me of two childhood "sick" stories! Warning vomiting described below:

#1 - When I was about four, my family was in the kitchen visiting with friends. I told my Dad that I didn't feel good and that I thought I was going to throw-up. Being the genius that he is, he abruptly throw me over his shoulder to run me to the bathroom. You can see were this is going . . . since my stomach hurt and my dad smashed it on his shoulder, I left a trail from the kitchen all the way back to the bathroom of vomit! We still laugh about this story :)

#2 - In 5th grade, I was visiting my Dad & stepmom for the weekend. I went into their room in the middle of the night to tell them that I wasn't feeling good and was told by my stepmom (evil, evil woman) to be sure to use the toilet and clean up any mess that I made. Well, of course I got sick and got it all over. It was nasty - in my hair and on the toilet, floor, and shower curtain. I was a goodie and listened to my parents, so I cleaned it up while crying and went back to bed. HHHHMMMMM . . . this was probably a defining moment in my life - hello parents - I was only ten years old! A little empathy and caring, please!

No, he is not married to her. They divorced while I was in college - thank god (I hate to say that, but not for her)!

I hope your little one is feeling better also. And, that is so sad about your former stepmom--what a lonely feeling to be sick all by yourself. You were a strong little girl, for sure. :)
