Chipotle Job Application Update

Hallejulah - There is a God! Sher filled out the application I brought her on my birthday, went to Chipotle, and got hired for a supervisor position making $10 per hour. I cannot believe it and I am intensely happy! We are praying that she doesn't mess it up. Yesterday she called to say that the first day went well, but complained that the work was hard - LOL!

For those of you that do not know me and my sister, here is the (Cliffs Notes version) situation that makes me an angry, pissed-off, bitchy, big sister:
- Employed at Joe's Crabshack, over 2 1/2 years ago she left her husband of 4 1/2 years and moved in with her daughter to our dad's (you will soon see that he is a saint) house.
- On Father's Day 2003, she totaled her car after work and really messed up her right wrist/arm.
- After she recovered and went back to work, she found out that they wouldn't let her wait tables and refused to go back to work for "only" hostessing
- During this time (2 1/2 years), she was supposedly looking for a job, etc. - yeah, right! All while living with our Dad with no income, spending his money . . . and until yesterday was still! Our Dad is a heart-beat away from foreclosure and bankrupcy thanks to supporting three extra people. He has raised his family and is now raising hers, too - total BS!
- Before she was divorced, she started seeing and sleeping with someone she met on the internet AND become pregnant. Sher didn't even know this guy's last name!!!! (Now he is 15 months old.)

Without going into more of the specifics, you can probably tell that none of this sits well with me. I love my sister, but I cannot stand her. My patience ran out over a year ago. Now, my Dad could have put his foot down a long time ago, but he was raised to believe that "family helps family". He knows that if he kicks her out, that she will have no where to go (and his grandchildren). Call me a bad sister, but we refuse to take her in . . . I have seen what she knowingly without visible guilt has done to my Father and will not let her take advantage of me and my family, too.

Hi, found you via Marel's and wanted to welcome you to "blogworld!" Now that THAT is out of the way, I don't think you are a bad sister at all. It sounds like your sister has some growing up to do and sometimes the best way to make that happen is with that "tough love" stuff.

Stick to your guns, I think you are on the right track. I just feel bad for your Dad. :(

Take care. I'll be back again.

You are doing her a favor by not helping her and as well-meaning as your dad is, he is enabling her. (That's what all parents do.) I understand the way you feel and I hope it gets easier for you.

Hello. Thanks so much for saying hello. And, welcome also. :) You are definitely not a bad sister--I know about tough love too. It is so hard, I know. I will also be back again. I hope that your Loo Loo is feeling better. :)
