The Birthday Cake . . . That Wasn't For Me!

Well, it is almost the end of my birthday. Of course, my dad asked me this morning when he called, "Do you feel any different?" Of course not! It is sad, as you get older that less and less people care about your birthday. I received phone calls today from my parents and DH's Grandma (she's can nag you to death, but is the best) and no presents (I told DH not to worry b/c of my new wheels - that down payment was enough)!

Here is a recap of my fabulous 31st Birthday:
- 2:3o a.m. - feeding Loco, "Happy Birthday to me . . . " - damn was I tired!
- 6:00 a.m. - feeding Loco, this sounds like a broken record!
- 6:30-ish - Loo wakes up and DH soon to follow
- 7:00 a.m. - realize my hopes of going out to breakfast were shot b/c Hubby mentioned donuts to Loo (she loves donuts), but that did mean I got to go back to sleep - yea! Now that is the best present ever!

- 9:30 a.m. - wake-up from "birthday nap" (did I mention that DH feels as if he deserves a medal for letting me sleep in? Whatever!)
11:00 a.m. - arrive at my Dad's house . . . here comes the punch line . . .

As we are trying to put Loco's carrier down on the table, she says, "Oh, let me move the birthday cake out of the way." I say, "Oh, Sher, you made me a cake - that is so nice!" Her, "Oh, that was for David, his birthday was yesterday." WHAT THE F*&@!!!! David is some man that she has been "talking to" off the internet for about three weeks. He gets a damn cake and I get the leftovers . . . this is BS! Especially when these internet men never call her back, etc.

I know not to expect a present from any of them b/c they are flat broke with no jobs. And this needs at least ten more blog entries to vent and bitch about. So, I go out (by myself) and buy Chipotle for lunch for everyone, b/c it is my birthday and I want to eat something good! While I was there I noticed that they were hiring and picked up an application for my lazy, cake-baking sister. She better go up there tomorrow.

3:00 p.m. - arrive home and help DH unload stuff from Dad's
4:00 p.m. - go over to my neighbors, "best friend's" house - she forgot birthday (I understand and don't really care . . . but, it has been a bad day so far!) and I felt bad telling her the cake story b/c the point was not to remind her of my birthday!
5:00 p.m. - go to dinner at a friend's house, not b/c it's my birthday, just b/c this day worked for all of us! While there, Loo dropped a toy on her face (thankfully we were about to leave anyway) and busted her lip up pretty good. Lots of blood and crying - fun!
8 - 9 p.m. - bath & bed time for kiddos.
9:00 p.m. - finally time for me, so what do I do - read my daily blog reads and try to comment!
NOW p.m. - Margarita in my hand, this blog is finished, and I am going to lay in bed to watch some TiVo'd shows!

What an interesting birthday . . . I can't wait to see what next year is like!

Happy belated birthday. Sorry it was so uninspiring. I'm right behind you. And just because you're 31 doesn't mean it's okay for people to forget your birthday!

My word verification is toyfug. Sounds like a bad word. Maybe it's one we can use around the kids.

I'm such a crappy bestfriend. :( Wasn't it easier when I was just "the bitch across the street"?

Thanks everyone!

And you are not a crappy BF, but you were pretty bitchy when we first met (as we have previously discussed). However, I forgive you b/c you were pregnant!!!!!! LOL! Love ya!
